Category Selection
The PLC CPU is the brain of the control system and contains a microprocessor, memory storage, and other integrated circuits that are used to execute the control program, store logic data, and communicate to external devices. PLC CPUs follow a repeated sequence of operations that perform those functions and other internal processes. Below is an example of a typical PLC scan.
The BRX CPUs are offered in 4 form factors, with or without built-in I/O, for an extremely versatile, compact system that can be customized to meet specific controller needs. With built-in high-speed inputs, an interchangeable communications port, on-board analog I/O (depending on model), and many I/O expansion modules available, the ideal controller can be built for any application.

M Series CPUs
The BRX M series is a compact, no built-in I/O controller ideal for applications such as machine data logging and Ethernet networking. This modular design lets you add only the I/O needed for the specific task, providing a precise, cost-effective solution.
- Two different versions available
- Built-in Ethernet port - full functioning Ethernet port including EtherNet/IP support
- Built-in serial port - RS232 or RS485 software selectable
- Pluggable Option Module (POM) slot - increases functionality of CPU with additional serial port, Ethernet port, or USB port
- MicroSD card slot - data logging and file management capability
- Expansion port - expandable up to (8) 16-point expansion modules for a total of 128 additional local I/O points
- 12-24 VDC or 120-240 VAC powered versions
- Supports up to 8 I/O expansion modules

10-point Series PLCs
The BRX 10-point series includes all the standard features of the M series plus 10 built-in discrete I/O points (AC, DC, and relay options available). Except for models with relay outputs, all the on-board discrete I/O can be configured for current-protected high-speed functions up to 250 kHz. Relay output models have high-speed inputs only.
- 10 discrete I/O points: 6 inputs, 4 outputs
- Models with DC inputs have 6 high-speed inputs up to 250kHz and can accept 12-24 VAC/VDC signals
- Models with AC inputs can accept 120-240 VAC signals
- Models with DC outputs have 2 high-speed outputs rated up to 250kHz
- Models with relay outputs have 6 discrete inputs and 4 Form A relay outputs
- BRX-DM1E PLCs offer built-in analog I/O (current/voltage selectable) and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port
- All units are externally powered by 12-24 VDC
- Supports up to 8 I/O expansion modules

18-point Series PLCs
The BRX 18-point series has all the benefits of the 10-point series plus an additional 8 discrete I/O points for 18 total. 14 of the 18 I/O points (on non-relay models) can be utilized for high-speed I/O applications up to 250 kHz.

36-point Series PLCs
The BRX 36-point series takes I/O count one step further with 36 onboard discrete I/O points, 18 of which (on non-relay models) support protected 250 kHz high-speed I/O. Ethernet-capable models also include six user-configurable analog I/O points.
