Temperature transmitters with integral sensors combine an RTD and transmitter in a stainless steel body. They are ready to use out-of-the-box or can be custom configured using software or IO-Link options. Various probe lengths are available with NPT, 3-A sanitary tri-clamps, or compression fittings.

Temperature Transmitters with Integral Sensor
Category Selection
By combining the temperature sensing element and transmitter electronics in the same housing, these sensors offer several advantages, including:
- Improved Signal Quality: By locating the transmitter electronics directly at the sensor, the low-level sensor signal only travels a very short distance to the transmitter. This significantly reduces the chance of electrical noise (EMI/RFI) interference and signal degradation resulting in enhanced accuracy.
- Reduced Wiring Costs: Eliminates the need for expensive specialized cabling (e.g., thermocouple extension wire or multi-conductor RTD cable) for long runs between the sensor and a remote transmitter or control system.
- Simplified Installation and Maintenance: Fewer connections mean less complexity in wiring and fewer points of potential failure. It also allows for easier troubleshooting and quicker installation.
- Environmental Protection: The integrated housing protects the delicate sensor and electronics from harsh industrial environments.
- Advanced Diagnostics (for select transmitters): Cutting-edge transmitters with integral sensors can often provide self-diagnostics, sensor break detection, and remote configuration/calibration via digital communication protocols like IO-Link.

ProSense XTP series compact temperature transmitters are built for harsh duty, combining rugged stainless steel housings, high-pressure resistance, and excellent protection ratings. The free ProSense XT-SOFT software simplifies programming custom measuring ranges and configuring additional parameters.
