NEMA 4X rated variable frequency drives (VFD) enable speed control for 3-phase AC motors such as those in conveyors and pumps, and are suitable for washdown-duty applications. They offer V/Hz, sensorless vector or field oriented vector control up to 30hp.

Washdown (NEMA 4X) AC Drives
Category Selection
The NEMA 4X environmental rating is given to drive enclosures that are washdown duty-rated and built to withstand a harsh environment. Food and beverage processing and water treatment facilities (both indoors and outdoors) are examples of harsh environments where the equipment will be subject to repeated high-pressure washdowns.
The NEMA 4X enclosure also allows you to mount the VFD directly to a machine, outside of an electrical panel. This can eliminate long runs of expensive VFD cable for motor wiring, reduce the need for external VFD output filters and in some cases simply provide a convenient, self-contained motor control at the machine or conveyor with an optional OSHA certified lock-out/tag-out disconnect.

IronHorse ACN NEMA 4X AC Drives
The ACN series of NEMA 4X sensorless vector AC drives have features normally only found on more expensive drives, in a NEMA 4X enclosure and at a great price. These drives offer an advanced remote keypad, Ethernet option cards so the drive can communicate over Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP, and the option to configure and program using the free, user-friendly VFD Suite software. DURApulse GS20X NEMA 4X AC Drives
The DURApulse GS20X new generation high performance vector control drives provide many standard and advanced functions - all in a compact unit that has been reduced 40% in size. The NEMA 4X version provides service in the harshest of environments and offers many great features including dynamic braking, single-phase input capability (ALL 230VAC drives can be supplied single-phase), a built-in PLC, and optional EtherNet/IP and ModbusTCP communication. The drive supports up to four (4) independent IM motor parameter sets or supports control of a single AC PM motor.
