XGB bus couplers reduce wiring time and cost by eliminating long signal wire runs from the main controller to remote devices. Bus couplers allow I/O to be installed next to the devices they control, transmitting data using one single EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, or Modbus TCP link (depending on model).

XEL-BSSRT EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP Bus Coupler
XEL-BSSCT EtherCAT Bus Coupler
New!
Industrial control applications are often divided into several different machines or sub-systems that all communicate back to a primary PLC or control device. To connect each I/O point from these remote devices to the main controller would take numerous, extensive wire runs. The XGB bus couplers can be installed at a remote location and communicate all I/O signals back to the main controller using a single Ethernet cable. Distributing I/O this way saves installation time, wiring costs, troubleshooting/wire tracing headaches, and makes it much easier if/when remote devices need wiring modifications or need to be relocated.
