Non-contact safety switches are a great choice for monitoring doors, guards, or other mechanisms on machinery that are used to isolate hazardous areas. They use RFID technology or magnets to monitor position and can isolate power from the hazard if the gate, guard, or door is opened. Unlike interlock safety switches that require physical contact between switch components, non-contact switches reduce wear from frequent mechanical contact and allow for a slight misalignment between the switch and actuator.
IDEM safety switches are high-quality, rugged devices that ensure reliable protection.

RFID coded non-contact safety switches use RFID communication between switch and actuator to provide the most tamper-proof protection using both master and unique coded actuators.
Coded non-contact magnetic safety switches use coded magnets to close the circuits, offering more protection than standard magnetic safety switches.
Non-contact magnetic safety switches are low-cost interlocking devices that are designed to protect both people and machines. These non-coded switches utilize a magnetic field between the switch and actuator to open/close the safety circuit(s).
Stand-alone non-contact magnetic coded switches can monitor opening/closing of machine guards, doors or other machinery access panels. The differences from a standard non-contact safety switch are that these stand-alone models use force guided contacts, contain an internal monitoring system, and do not require an external safety relay. Coding offers a degree of tamper resistance.
