For gasketed enclosures, as ambient temperature fluctuates, a pressure differential between inside the enclosure and ambient space is created. This pressure difference will stress and can compromise the enclosure seals. In the case of negative pressure or partial vacuum, dust and humidity can enter the enclosure through a compromised door seal.

Pressure compensators and vent plugs balance the pressure between the inside and outside of the enclosure, which eases the strain on enclosure seals, reduces condensation, and extends the life of the complete system. These compensators and vent plugs are available in various NEMA and/or IP ratings to maintain the integrity of the enclosure.
