Single-conductor wires and cables carry electrical signals between devices in industrial or commercial applications. Wires consist of one single electrical conductor, whereas a cable typically contains a group of two or more separate electrical conductors. However, these definitions vary based on the organization that regulates them such as IEEE, NFPA, IEC and UL. The two cables offered here, large gauge MTW cable and DLO cable, are single conductor but are not considered wires since they are defined as cables under their UL ratings.
Several insulation types of single-conductor wire and cable are available, including MTW, TFFN, THHN and AWM, to meet a wide range of application requirements.
