Emergency stop pushbuttons provide one-push emergency protection for machinery or systems where moving parts are exposed. Mushroom heads offer a large target operator in various options, including keyed or twist release action; opaque or illuminated; in 16mm, 22mm or 30mm mounting dimensions.

Emergency Stop Pushbuttons
Category Selection
Emergency stop buttons provide a simple way to quickly and completely halt a machine's operation to prevent injury to workers and costly damage to equipment. Emergency stop buttons must be highly visible in color and shape, accessible, and easy to operate in emergency situations. The most common types of emergency stop switch actions are:
- Push to lock, pull to reset
- Push to lock, pull or turn to reset
- Push to lock, twist to release
- Push to lock with a key operated release

Push to Lock, Pull to Reset E-Stops
These maintained emergency stop buttons come with a large red mushroom head and at least one N.C. contact that stays open when the button is pressed. The button must be pulled to reset to normal condition.

Push to Lock, Pull or Turn to Reset
Push to lock, pull or turn to reset (maintained) emergency stop buttons come with an easily visible red mushroom head and at least one N.C. contact (N.O. contacts also available) that stays open while the button is in the pressed position. To reset the button, the operator must be pulled or turned back to its normal state.

Twist-to-release maintained emergency stop buttons break the circuit when the button is pressed. Once pressed, to prevent an accidental reset, the button must be twisted to reset to normal condition.
