Capacitive pushbutton switches detect when a hand or body part is near the device's surface. They feature a robust IP69K design suitable for harsh environments and are available in a variety of styles and mounting options. Hygienic models are EHEDG-certified for Food and Beverage applications.

Capacitive Switches
Category Selection
Captron capacitive switches/pushbuttons utilize touch control and are activated without pressure, using a hand or other parts of the body. These buttons have a determinate sensing distance, which may be altered by varying the approach speed and/or damping factor.

Switch Action
- Static (momentary action): the output signal is continuously on as long as the sensor area is activated
- Dynamic (one-shot action): the output signal length is limited (typically 300ms) when the sensor area is activated
- Toggle (push-on/push-off action): the output signal turns on when the sensor area is activated and stays on until the sensor area is activated again
LED Control
- Semi-automatic: LED1 is controlled separately while LED2 lights up when the operating surface is touched; ideal for prompting an operator to activate the switch
- Manual: LED1 and LED2 can be controlled separately for optical feedback like a signal indicator
- Automatic: LED1 is ON and LED2 is OFF when the button is not touched; LED1 is OFF and LED2 is ON while the button is pressed
