The standard architecture of an IO-Link system consists of an IO-Link master and at least one IO-Link device. The system can also support standard field I/O devices to transmit basic sensing/control data to/from a host controller.
An IO-Link hub can be used to aggregate digital sensor and actuator signals to be transmitted back to an IO-Link master via a single standard cable, providing an economical solution for field I/O data transmission. These hubs do not support IO-Link diagnostic information data; however, the IO-Link master module does monitor each channel for current and voltage anomalies.
IO-Link hubs feature:
8 digital IO ports (8 or 16 inputs/outputs)
M8 or M12 signal connections, depending on model
Up to 2A per output (within power limits of IO-Link master)
Extended channel diagnostics
Realtime power data monitoring
Simple installation using A-coded M12 cordset
Fully-potted, machine-mountable plastic housings
no enclosure required
IP68 rating
Easily integrate IO-Link master modules, hubs, and their connected sensors/actuators with Productivity PLCs using task libraries available in the Productivity Suite programming software
Murrelektronik IO-Link hubs are a great economical solution that allows for centralizing multiple digital sensors and actuators and connect them to a single port on your IO-Link master all over a standard sensor cable. These IO-Link hubs are for standard field I/O signals and do not transmit diagnostic information, but the IO-Link master module will be able to monitor each channel for current and voltage anomalies.
