Productivity PLCs has made it easy to transfer your PLC project to your PLC without having to connect your PC with the PLC. For those of you that need to send an update to a to a remote installation this is a huge advantage. Just load the removeable media and send it via mail to your customer. Also, the CPU you want to transfer the project to, must have the transfer feature enabled. This can be done by going into the CPU Hardware configuration. Enable this feature and then select a 4-digit passcode. You can also leave this as the default of 4 zeroes. Then update the CPU project. So, if you want this as an option, you will need to do this before deploying the PLC. Lets show how to transfer from the programming software. Have your new project open. Select the File menu, then Transfer project. And then select Transfer to removable media. Notice here also that you can bring a project into the programming software like this. Once you select this, now you will just need to select the removable drive you want to save this project to. Now I will show Loading this project to a P2-550 using this method. Insert the removable media. Hit the menu button. Select down til you get to the menu 8 Micro SD then then hit enter. You have 3 options here. You can save the current project on the CPU to the drive, this is used to backup to store locally or to pull this into your programming software, like we mentioned before, To send the project to the CPU select the Load to CPU option and hit enter. Enter in your password and select enter. Select if you want to retain the current values, of the tags, in the CPU or overwrite them and then hit enter. And then your project will load into the CPU. Just another way that Productivity gives you the most out of your control system.
