The C-more HMI (human machine interface) is one of the best values in industrial HMI. Not only do you get competitive pricing but the ease of setup and use will save you even more.
In this video, it is detailed how to quickly import your Micro800 PLC project tags, from your CCW Programming software, into your C-more HMI Touch panel.
This video is part of the C-more setup videos that give direction on how to import tags from different platforms into the C-more Industrial HMI software. These are quick and easy HMI Programming tutorials, that help you to integrate your control system.
With the C-more HMI you can quickly integrate your Micro800 project tags. Open up your CCW project. Go into the Global variables. Select the variables that you want to import into your C-more project. Here I am going to select all of them all by hitting CTRL + A. Once you have all the tags selected that you need, hit CTRL C, and this will copy all of the tags to your Clipboard. Open up Notepad, and here hit CTRL + V and this will paste all those tags into this file. Now select to save the file. Now, this is the point you really want to be specific about, this needs to be in a File type of text document and at the end of the file name, make sure to put . XML. This will save the file as an XML file. Open up the C-more software and you will see this start up wizard. Name your project, select your panel type, and under PLC Protocol, select either of these two protocols. You will use this one if are connecting using ethernet and you will use this one if you are connecting over serial. I am going to continue on with this demonstration using the ethernet protocol. Click here on Protocol setup and you will need to define the IP address of the Micro800 system. For the rest of these defaults this will work for most systems. Once you are done, click OK and OK once again. That starts your project, now let’s import the tags. There are two ways, that you can go about importing your tags. You can go to File, Import and then tag name database or open up the Tag Name Database from here and select Import. Select the XML file that we saved earlier. Select the device that you are connecting these tags with. If you want to append the tags names, that you are importing, place that text here. And if you would like to overwrite the existing tags select this option. Once you have those options setup, select to Import. You will get notified that your tags successfully imported, and now I can see them in my tag database. You can I can also select, up here, to filter this display, to show only the tags for that device. Now, that everything is imported. Let’s setup the IP address on the C-more HMI. Select here on Ethernet Port and enter in the IP address information. Once that is done, send the project to the panel and start building your control system. And that is just how easy it is to integrate your C-more with your Micro800 CPU.
