You can always open a previous project and edit it down, but if you want to save yourself some effort, let the C-More Micro Software do it for you by selectively importing project data. Here we have a blank new project, and we would like to borrow a few screens and TAGs from a previous project. Just go to File, IMPORT, Project Data, and select the project. Lets see, how about É how to password protect screens Ð it has a bunch of screens in it we can steal. Ok, so this project has 5 screens and a TAG name database. LetÕs say we want to import screens 4 and 5 and all of the TAGs associated with that project. Just say OK, Import complete. And now, all of the screens from that project have been brought in. We only asked it to bring in screens 4 and 5 so it did that. Note that it put them in slots 4 and 5. So we had our original screen 1 and 4 and 5 were filled by screens from the other project. The import function will always attempt to place screens at their original numbers, but if there is already a screen there, the imported screen will be appended to the project. For example, since we already have a screen 1, lets go back and try and re-import that É project data.. we need to go find that project again É How To Password Protect .. right there É weÕll select screen 1 because I already have a screen 1 .. letÕs also select screens 4 & 5 again and see what happens. Say OK. The import is complete Ð but look what happened Ð we had screen 1,4 and 5, but since those slots were already filled, it appended the new screens down here. So it filled in the unused screens 2 and 3 with the screen 1 and 4 that we selected and then it appended screen 5 at the end of the project. And since we had selected the TAG name database, it also imported all the TAGs from that previous project. Note the TAG and message Databases will also not overwrite existing data, if there are duplicate names, the new item will be given a different suffix and added to the current database. ThatÕs all there is for this video Ð be sure to check out the other videos in this series. And as always, please send us any topics you would like to see covered Ð or - any other comments for that matter Ð we appreciate the feedback
