AutomationDirect: Product Information and Product Documents

AutomationDirect sells thousands of products. We have everything from terminal blocks, to PLCs, to Drives and motors. With every one of those products, we work very hard to ensure the best product documentation in the industry. One aspect of this is the “My Product Docs” tool on our webstore, AutomationDirect.com Simply log into your account and go to our homepage. We see a link there called “My Product Docs.” We can also access this tool from the Accounts & Orders menu, or by going to the “Products” page and clicking the “My Product Docs” link there as well. Clicking will send us to the “My Product Docs” page, and we can see that we have multiple ways to group products for which we want information. If we have already submitted an order, we can download all the products for that specific order. Simply select the order number and click “Create.” The system will ask us to confirm that we want to create the document group. We will again select “Create.” At this point, the tool will show us all of the products associated with that order. In our case we have an enclosure and subpanel for the enclosure as well as a breather vent for the system. We see part descriptions, documentation, drawings, compliance information, relevant videos and even a link to the order page. Everything we need for documentation, accounting, engineering, design, or any number of other functions requiring information and documentation for our products. It’s easy! We can change the name of this group, create a documents group from it, or download a summation of the compliance information in spreadsheet form. If we download the compliance sheet, and open it in excel, we can see that it gives a great summation of all available compliance information for this part list. It has all the Part Numbers listed, regulatory information, and even links to download each document if available. It’s the perfect tool to appease the quality control representatives in your life, and if you are the quality control representative, then this tool will make you very happy you went with AutomationDirect! We also have the option to “Download Documents.” This then allows us to select what we actually need. We have easy access to all relevant manuals, technical specifications, product inserts, cut sheets, and much much more. In our case, there isn’t a manual available for this enclosure system, so that isn’t an option. The available documents shown here are part number dependent, to ensure that we only get the documents we need, and not a bunch of non-relevant information. Let’s select “Download All” and then select “Download.” The tool downloads everything for that order into a single zip file for easy access. Perfect! We can perform this same function based on a bill of materials or quote we created for a future project. This allows us to verify all design information available prior to spending a dime. A very handy option! Finally, we can manually create custom lists based on part numbers using the “Custom Based Document Groups” option. Whatever method we choose, we will have an easy way to gather ALL relevant documentation for our products, with a few clicks of a button.
