AutomationDirect offers 4 types of machine vision lighting solutions from Wenglor TPL that include: bar lights, ring lights, flat lights, and flat dome lights. In this video, we’ll be covering the Wenglor TPL modular ring lights. The Wenglor TPL modular ring lights are available in 80mm and 130mm sizes in two different color sets: white/infrared and red/cyan. However, only one color can be used at a time. These light fixtures are rated IP65 and are designed to withstand tough environments. The ring light requires a 24VDC power supply and is wired via a 5 or 8-pin m12 connector to make wiring easy. The 8-pin connector offers more control with remote access and color selection. These lights can be wired for continuous or strobe light modes. Due to the unique shape of these ring lights, the lights can be separated into 4 sectors that can be activated in different ways. Using the control panel, operators can choose between 4-sector and 2-sector lighting – which turns the ring light into 2 parallel bar lights. This sector lighting feature is available on both color variations. The ring lights can be equipped with 2 unique accessories that transform them into a low-angle light or dome light. These accessories help add to the versatility of the device allowing for three different illumination methods: dome, low angle, and direct. Dome lights help create a high degree of homogeneity using reflective light. The light is reflected inside the dome and diffused from the surface down to the target. This makes it great for uneven surfaces and minute details. The dome accessory can be equipped with aperture adapters to help reduce dark spots in the camera. The low-angle light accessory is perfect for shiny parts and highlighting edges, protrusions and scratches. We also offer a mounting bracket that can be easily mounted to T-slot aluminum. The ring light can be easily attached with 2 screws placed in the device and positioned accordingly. Just add the appropriate screws and T-nuts for your T-slot application.
