This instruction is used to close a file that had been opened using the File open instruction. The File handle structure, used here, can be up to 16 characters and consist of any combination of alphanumeric characters and underscores. Make sure to note that this is an edge triggered instruction. It does require an off to on transition. This instruction can be used in Task or Program but cannot be used in a Subroutine or Interrupt service routine. The utility program called Browse PLC File Systems, can be used to manage the contents of any file system.
