AutomationDirect offers STEGO brand Filter Fan Plus fans and grilles that feature "no screw" mounting systems using ratchet style mounts or traditional screws can be used. This video covers mounting options and DIY or HOW TO install the new Filter Fan Plus units.
In this How To video, we will cover the DIY basic installation and operation of our STEGO enclosure Filter Fan Plus. The new filter fan plus offers an air-flap outlet technology that blocks incoming air but allows exit air for a more effective airflow. These filter fans fit in standard enclosure cut out sizes, will mount to wall thickness of 1 mm up to 4 mm, and are dust and splash waterproof, maintaining a UL type 12 rating and have a ratchet mechanism for mounting for improved stability and tightness. Mounting screws are included as an optional method for mounting. It is recommended to pre-drill holes with a 3 mm drill bit if using screws for mounting. Placement of screw holes can be found molded into the frame of the fan. Installation with the ratcheting mechanisms is very simple. Install the unit in the properly sized cutout, press and snap all four of the ratcheting lock mechanisms and installation is complete. In order to remove the filter unit, you will need a 3 mm to 3.5 mm flat blade screwdriver to insert into each ratcheting latch, rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees to release the latch, rotate the locking mechanism and repeat on the remaining three mechanisms and the filter can be removed. Let's discuss installing or removing the outer diffuser. The outer diffuser will need to be rotated to 70 degrees of being closed. If you notice, there are 2 flat notches in the hinge. When rotated to 70 degrees, the fingers can snap on or off of the flat notch.
