CLICK PLC - How to Install the Programming Software (Part 1) from AutomationDirect

so you have a click PLC or you're thinking of getting one and you need to download and install the free software follow along and we'll show you where to find it how to install the software in order to get your quick PLC out of the box and into production to install the free click programming software we will need to download the files from automationdirect's website the file is a zip file named click software zip you can locate the software from several areas on the ADC websites it can be found under the about PLC's website the automationDirect homepage at the top under downloads or by simply ordering the software under the click product tabs part number czg MSW at the time of this recording the only version is the free download from our websites but once a hard copy version is available you will need to insert the software CD into your computer and the install wizard should automatically appear on the free downloadable version you'll need to locate the file on our websites select a place to store the file then unzip the file to a folder of your choice like we have here open the file folder you choose and find the install Exe file double click and select run on either version you should see or have seen the splash screen and can now select Install software a welcome screen will pop up and tell you what version of software you're currently running no matter what version of software using from automationDirect it's always a good idea to go to the download page of our website and get the latest updates which are typically free the software will ask you to disable any antivirus programs while setting up the program don't worry we won't install a virus this just to make sure that none of the software files are blocked as you know everyone has a license agreement read it accept it or don't and select the next button here enter your name and/or company if you have one choose a folder on your PC where you like the software to be installed we recommend using the default folder the wizard is now ready to install don't get mad at the software if it takes a few minutes to install it may be that you're using an archaic PC the next-to-last step allows you to choose if you want a desktop icon and a quick launch icon it's totally up to you ok finally here we're finished and I hope your install is - now all that's left is to take it out for a test drive have fun and watch the list of software tutorial videos we've created unless you need to uninstall the software for some reason well we and if you need to but a few quick tips before you do save projects to a safe location if you plan to use them in the future remove the USB cable and adapter between your PC and PLC or the USB driver will still be active the rest of an onion style is just like the rest go to start control panel on your PC and open the add/remove programs find the click software and select the remove button you'll be asked if you in fact want to remove the software the uninstaller will alert you that is complete and you can select finished as shown you can install the USB driver as shown here but this is optional and typically you would only need to install it if your PC does not have a USB driver the USB driver install looks similar to the software install if needed you can uninstall the USB driver as well we hope you are able to get your free software installed and you're excited about using the click line of PLC's thanks for watching and we hope that you'll view more of our learned videos
