Part 7, Write Project to PLC

if you've been following along in this series of videos then you now have a project program applied power to the click CPU and establish Communications between your PC and the click next we need to ride our project into the cpu's memory in order to get our project into the cpu's memory we need to open the read write program dialogue box the dialogue box is accessed by selecting right project into PLC under the PLC pull down menu on the main menu as shown here or a faster way is to just click on the right project into PLC icon located on the PLC toolbar as shown here once the readr program dialogue Box is open we can see the status of the project that is currently opened on the PC and also the status of any project that may already reside in the click CPU the project name and memory usage is shown for both the project in the PC and the PLC select okay to continue a message box will be displayed to warn you that the project between the PC and the PLC are different and ask if you want to overwrite the plc's project select yes to proceed if the CPU is in the Run mode you'll get a message box that asks you if you want to change to the stop mode the CPU needs to be in the stop mode anytime a project is being written into its memory now when we say stop mode we're talking about stop mode in the software not literally on the CPU we'll go into that on the next video select okay to continue the writing progress window will open to allow verification that the project is being written to the CPU when finished a transfer complete message will be displayed select C okay to continue finally the PLC mode dialogue box will open to allow you to place the CPU into run mode with the software not with the CPU itself select cancel at this time we now have our project reciting in the cpu's memory although we could have placed the CPU in the Run mode with a software writing the project to the CPU we have included part eight Place PLC in run mode and this video series will give you an idea of the ious ways you can change the PLC modes until next time thank you for watching
