AutomationDirect Customer Site Visit to CTC Crushing

We're here today with CTC crushing outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, and I’m here with Todd. So, Todd, please tell us a little bit about your company and what kind of products or what services ya’ll do here. We crush sand and gravel for the trades in Nevada. We basically take our native material; we take the larger native rock, take it down form a twenty-four inch minus down to an eighth inch minus sand. We supply sand and gravel to the local community, we do a lot of specialty products, specialty rock products. We deal with utility companies, landscape companies, all the above. Todd, can you tell us a little bit about what you have used AutomationDirect PLCs in or the applications you’ve used here with AutomationDirect PLCs? Over the past year, we have implemented one of your PLC HMI setups. We did an upgrade on our entire plant, brought your system in, and integrated it with our motor controls center. We then took the HMI and developed a process that would work for our equipment, and its been running good and strong for the past six to eight months right now. So, were there any challenges you faced with implementing the control system? It was pretty much fail safe. We had a little integration problem with our VFD’s but with the help of tech support, we got through it and its been running ever since. What were the main benefits of the PLC application? The simplicity, reliability, it basically took us from a whole manual system that had to be wired to each control, to a screen that integrated everything by the touch of a finger. I have been extremely happy with the equipment, the service, technical support, they have not let me down in the twelve to fifteen years I have used them.
