Force guided relays are electromechanical switching devices that provide failsafe operation within circuits. Dold force guided relays have at least one N.C. contact set and one N.O. contact set. They are constructed such that it is not possible for all contacts to be closed at the same time. For example, when power is switched off, if a N.O. contact in the closed position fails when trying to open, the associated N.C. contact will not be permitted to close.
